Do you have a Tattoo or Body Piercings?
Do they
have spiritual meaning to you Tell Witch's Brew about it!
(You may attach a picture of your tattoo if you wish)
My first tattoos were done by myself with a razor blade and india ink when I was sixteen. On my ankles, I put the rune Uruz - for strength, I put the Star of David, and the Pentagram. They are not fine or lovely tattoos, but they are representative of a time in my life when they were deeply meaningful. I may touch them up in time, but I will never remove them.
All my tattoos have been deeply meaningful and very spiritual. My first professional one was a yin/yang and two eyes of Horus, done in blue and purple. The idea was to have power balanced with the wisdom to know how to use it properly. I have a blue and purple crab in whose shell is the astrological symbol for Cancer right above the eyes. I also have an earth dragon on my back to ground me. I've got self-drawn designs of the sun and moon on my hips. On one leg I have Chinese characters that say "spirit of the dragon", which is my totem. My most recent and elaborate work is a beautiful lotus blossom that covers the top of my right foot. As the lotus grows strong and lovely from roots in the mud, so have I grown from terrible circumstances.
The most meaningful so far, has been one I did to cover up a scar on my arm. The scar had been a memory of the worst night of my life for years, and every time I looked down I saw the pain I went through. One day I decided if I was going to be marked for life I could take control of it and make it into something beautiful. I have a majestic eagle feather covering the whole thing now. The feather is symbolic of myself spreading my wings and gaining great strength from great sorrow, and becoming a better person for it. It's impossible to see the scar now, but if you touch it you can still feel it.
My next tattoo... who knows? It will come to me when it is time.
