Tell me your opinion on the TV Show Sabrina: The Teenage Witch

I don't get what all these people are complaining about. While yes it does give a wrong view on witches and what we do, it also helps us to get the understanding out that we are not evil and that we don't worship Satan, have green faces or kill puppies. Sabrina actually helped me come out of the broom closet with my friends. When you tell most people that your a witch they'll probably laugh and say like Sabrina, but from that point you can start to educate them in your real beliefs. If it wasn't for these shows portraying us in a positive manner we might still be getting stoned or burned at the stake, you just don't know.

I have researched what most people think witches are. I have searched dictionaries and encyclopaedias. In these books that we rely on the help educate child they say that we are evil, we worship the devil (when we don't even believe in him) or that we are beautiful women that bewitch men into doing things that we want them to do.

I say that if you want to change the television shows that use witchcraft in a positive, then change the dictionaries and the encyclopaedias first. Then concentrate on changing the shows, but why don't we change the things that children, and adults are more likely to believe.

I'd like to restrict my comments to the quality of the show itself. I have no arguments or comments whatsoever as to whether or not this is supposed to be any kind of representation of "real witchcraft". Obviously, it is a fantasy and, up until this season it has been a clever, entertaining one. What happened????

Sabrina has always been, if not somewhat confused and mischievous teen, a very likeable one. This year she's been nothing but a pathetic whining BRAT who comes down with some weird "witch disease of the week". (How boring is that?) Since she lost her best pal, Val, and her arch enemy, Libby, she's become fussy, arrogant, self-centered and a pain in the butt.

The poor aunts haven't fared much better. Last year they were wise, talented (one was a scientist, another a musician) mature witches who seemed to be well-chosen to guide Sabrina on her path to magical maturity. This year all they do is snipe and snarl at each other while each tries to outdo the other in childish behaviors. Harvey used to be sweet and interesting and now he's a real doofus. Brad the witch hunter might be okay if they'd ever let him do something interesting and Principle Willard Kraft is a cartoon this year. This whole cast needs to grow up or at least break that "whine and moan" spell someone has cast over this production! The only one who has any good lines this season is Salem the cat. He, too, is arrogant and bossy, but hey--that's a feline's right.

Seriously, I used to love this show but this season has been a real disappointment. I don't know what has happened to this very talented bunch of people, whether it's cast changes, less sophisticated writers on the job this year or what. I mean, they have 3 witches, a talking cat, an entire Other Realm full of magical possibilities. Can't they do better than this? They desperately need to find some writers who can recapture the magic of this show's two previous seasons.

I read the comments on Sabrina the Teenage Witch and I am amazed. It is my favorite show ever. I can't believe that some people can find any harm in this show. It is NOT meant to represent real witches or Wiccans or Pagans. It is meant to entertain and to show the life of a teenage girl who has to face many problems like any normal teenager. The fact that she is a witch just add a little twist to the show. Most of the time when she tries to solve her problems with magic she realizes that even with these powers she can't take any shortcut. This show teaches a good moral to all the family. I think that if the producers wanted to represent the everyday life of a real witch they would not have choosen Archie's cartoons for subect and they would have put their show on the Descovery channel. This show is just the evolution of witches like in Bewitched or genies in bottles. Take it as a show that is meant to entertain because that is what it is and it is well done.

first of all people i am a witch and wiccan and i love the show and all the witchy movies they are fun entertainment and some witches and pagens take it all a little too seriously. And just to clear something up cause i watch the show like almost every week is that sabrina is a witch not a wiccan she practises magick not the religion. it isn't supposed to be a religios thing get over it and it portrays witches in a positive light that to me is a big plus for us

I think that the show sabrina the teenage witch wouldn't be good if it weren't for Salem, i luv that cat! But still, the show is pretty funny, my fave time was when sabrina was a guy hehehe, harvey is also a nice touch to the show

i myself is a famous witch but the tv show sabrina the teenage witch is really very funny. i think people will like us after they have seen the show and it does not spoils our image. i like it really very much. my witch schoolmates say that ever since they watched it they want to watch again. love

hi I read all the other comments on Sabrina and I just wanted to say i'v only recently began studying wiccca and from what I know yes Sabrina is a fake and a hollywood fantasy defiantly not fact but I see no harm in it because every one knows that u cant do a spell bye pointing a finger or wiggling a nose (ah if only it was that easy) and yes it is extremely good that it is taking away the image of "old hag" but u must admit it is a very funny show

I like Sabrina but it's not my favourite show, she's got some really nice clothes though. I'd love to be a witch and have magical powers but I wouldn't like to have to make excuses all the time. Her Aunt Hilda and Zelda are really cool and fun. I'd love just to zap myself anywhere or zap anything infront of me , I also like the problems she gets into and how she has to solve them . out of 10 I give Sabrina a witchtastic 8. c-yah

Hmm..well...its pure fantasy to the high extent, but that's alright, its just entertainment, not a documentary, people shouldn't be so uptight about stuff like this. ^^ , I used to watch it when it was first on in like 95/96, my favorite episode coincidentally was "Sabrina, the teenage boy". (then again i turned out to be trans).

Merry Meet everyone! I'm not a parent but a kid. I am wiccan. I don't at all become affended by that show. I enjoy watching it. it is interesting. I don't think its realistic but is a good show. I havent been going to circle latly, But really want to. It has been over a year! We keep moving and our chantry is on the western shore of MD, USA and now we live on the eastern shore.

I really under stand about witch craft. I like it so much but my mom don't like me to do all of that stuff. I don't have time to do spells because my mom don't aprove of it. But I really wish that I could do it a lot. Like I lost my boy friend and I want to get him back so much but I can't do it because it's for personal gane like in Charmed. I think your show is the best! Don't let what other people think about witches or the show get you down.I love to read books about early day witches! It wasn't fair how they burned the witches, they just have different relion.

I really do which that i can do my own t.v show like the one when hilda and zelda were in there teenage years so that they can supervize sabrina in the violent femmes concert.In fact i'm writing my own script. I think Sabrina is a wonderfull show. I've watched it since I was 10 years old(I'm 14 now). I know it's fiction, so long as everyone else knows it's fiction, then it shouldn't be a problem... lol, imagine! Being able to fly, turn people invisible and other stuff like that! Everyone else is right, as long as everyone thinks Sabrina is fiction, then the show should be ok... Blessed Be!

hey.... i live in an area where it is not right to be a witch... i told my close friend carla i was a witch, but sadly, she mocked me and told all the popular girls in school... who i supose you could say are somewhat like libby. i use my powers for the good of others, and not materialistic things such as changing my clothes. my powers arent phonomenal or in any way great, but i believe i have a gift. so can i just say to all you haters, that being a witch is a true gift and i hope i can teach younder people to come out of the depths of there witch intuition and tell all that they are a special person chosen by god to help and treat all.
