Do you wear your pentagram in public?

Merry Met, I am a 35 year old witch who wears her pentical all of the time. It was the first present my now husband ever gave me. The only time I realy had someone freak out on me was when I was working for a large department store chain[store name withheld]. One day as I was waiting on a customer, she noticed my neclace. She then said that it was the sighn of the devil, and that she would pray for me. I told her it was not evil, and that I don't belive in the devil. I then said Wicca is a peace loving religion that belives in " live and let live". Then she noded and left. Later I found out that she had gone to the managment office in a panic, because she wrote a check, and "a witch now has all of my info, and knows where I live". Luckly for me, managment stood behind me, telling the lady that no employee of theirs would ever use customer info to harm anyone. He also said that the company does not discriminat against any religion.

Blessed Be,
Lady Foalan

Sure, I do. Not all the time, but that has nothing to do with me being ashamed of it, it's just that I have other necklaces that I like to wear. The only comments I have got on it are compliments, mostly from the students at my school - asking me where I bought it becos they would like one, or some people asking me if I was jewish (you know, coz they thought it was the Star of David.) Only one girl asked me if it was a symbol of satan to which I told her it wasn't and she accepted that, and some other people have seen me wearing it and then told me about Pagan/Wiccan avents coming on soon. Nobody stressed out about it, because most people don't see Witches as freaks.

I do wear my pentacle in public, and i wear it proudly. Not only is it a symbol of protection, and the elements, it is a symbol of my faith. I have not had many comments on it, i think that is because most of the people around where i live, either just see it as a star, or they keep to them selves. I have gotten a few comments, of people asking me what it meant, and where i got it. I don't mind answering those questions at all. :)

Merry Meet,

Hello, my name is Eric, and to the question of do I wear my pentagram in public the answer is sometimes. Actually I wear it everywhere but work. I am actually afraid to wear it to work. I work in a hospital and there was an incident with my boss the director of nursing; one day in the middle of winter I was wearing and Independent (a skate board company) sweater which bares the equal armed cross (or iron cross) as its symbol. The director of nursing had the nerve to tell me that I am a Satanist! Due to my observation of the way I was treated by my boss I find it to be quiet dangerous to wear any pagan symbols in this building for fear of being fired. I live in the "big city" so I experience little racism towards my faith. There are actually student groups that help to teach us solitary pagans the ways that we cannot figure out on our own. So in short while I am at work I wear no bearing of my faith but while I am free to do as I feel with no worry about my ability to pay my way through college and feed myself I wear my pentagram with pride of my religion. thank you for reading my ramblings.

I am 48 yrs old and have interested in Wicca since high school before it was a really organinzed and recognized religion. I have a Pentagram ring that I wear everywhere and all the time. This is the 2nd ring I have had as I wore the other one out after about 10 yrs. I really don't get too much comment and it wouldn't bother me if I did. I feel that it is my religion and my choice. This country was founded on several principles and freedom of religion was one of them. To each his own.

Blessed Be!

Yes. I always wear my pentigram in public. I never hide it, where it proud, and protect it. When people ask me about it, "Do you worship the devil?" that is usually what I get, I say NO. I explain some things to them like that I don't believe in the devil, I am a healer, and that I deserve respect. If they don't like what I say, too bad. I won't change for anyone no matter what they say. This is who I am and I am proud!

Blessed be,

I began wicca about six months ago and have two pentacles. I wear them with pride and am not ashamed to enlighten those who are curious. At school at the beginning I got all the expected "devil worshipper" and "satan" jeers thrown at me but a few months down the line people have just had to get used to it. I have never got into fights over my religious jewellery but once, when a year 7 at school shouted "witch" at me I replied with "oh yeah, and that's meant to be an insult is it?" Which stirred things a bit but I have got past caring what people think of me and all the people who are extremely misinformed and think i am a satanist etc, I just leave them to it. These people are happy in their ignorance.

I never take my pentacles off except the bigger of the two as it is on a material cord which gets very wet.

I have never had any hassle from any teachers at school except one who is reknowned as probably the most religious teacher in school, when I didnt have my pentacles and just drew them on my hand with the reede around it and he said (More like shouted) "...... AND WOULD THE GIRL AT THE BACK DRAWING THE SIGN OF THE DEVIL ON HER HAND KINDLY REFRAIN FROM DOING SO" which really got people talking but I can laugh about it now. Now after a Pagan film was shown on t.v (I cant remember the title) and the words "im not a satanist" were spoken from a witch, people were all apologising and everything which was really funny.

In perfect love and perfect trust with many blessings

After reading everyone else's comments about how they proudly wear their pentacle in public, I had to write in and tell you that I don't wear my pentacle jewelry in public. I'm 35 and have been a witch for many years. I think it mostly stems from not wanting to answer those curious looks or questions about being a devil worshipper, especially at work, but it's also that I don't feel the need to show off a symbol that's just begging for questions that I don't want to answer. I need to have a working relationship with my associates, and once you're out of the broom closet..you're out! I feel that I can still be proud and represent my religion without flaunting jewelry that's just begging for inquiries. For instance, I wear all sorts of gems with silver. Moonstones and crystals help me come across and "different" without pushing my beliefs in people's faces. Several talismans and amulets are precious to me that I wear, and I wear a full moon charm and new moon charm are the appropriate days. This way I live in my own personal witchy world without having to explain myself to people (strangers and co-workers) and leave the explaining to friends and family who will actually care and understand. :)

I live in london england and i where a pentagram on a chain but i keep it hidden i have had a very mixed response of being a white witch but others i have to be careful of as it is a very taboo subject some still think we are devil worshipers and are all evil but most of them are bible bashers i get fed up in the way people treat us i am not ashamed of what i am. I found out i was different at the age of 9 years old and found out i have the gift of second sight but i still have to keep that secret as well I was brought up as a Christian and stopped going when my gift started to come i have had a few of my friend support me for being a witch and i freely help them out when they have asked for it i well NEVER do black magic some have asked me to do binding spells but i have refused i think and have learnt that if we do black magic something in ! the would is going to happen at and it is normally disaster or death my dearest wish is we all live in peace and harmony with each other

I don't wear pentagrams personally,I have a pair of dangly waning/waxing moon earrings w/mother of pearl chips in them, and a lot of people have recognized them for what they are! When I feel the need to 'carry' the elements with me I have jewelry I bought just because it brought a particular one to mind.To me pentagrams are for working with not wearing.

Please notice the "to me" part,I realize that to most this is strange!

I am a lifelong pagan who has only recently begun to research and practice the wiccan faith. I wear my husband's pair of pentagram earrings on occasion and have yet to receive either a stare (that I've noticed) or a comment. I am proud of who I am and am tired of trying to "toe the line" as it were.

Before, I always tried to say the "right" thing and to do the "right" things when working and on job interviews and such. But after several hideously bad jobs, (two of which would be considered to be "good" jobs but were made miserable because of the abusive personalities I had to work with), jobs which I had to push and push HARD to get (including a factory job because that was all I could find after graduating college!!), a prior close relationship that was verbally and emotionally abusive and an emotionally tough childhood, I have decided that enough is enough. I am as I am.

Being kind and loving is the best way to be and I am too tired now to do anything but be myself.

Blessed Be,
Autumn

Yes, I do where it in public. I almost never take it off. The exception being medically needed tests i.e. X-rays, or any tests that it may interfere with. When asked what it means, if the asked is reasonably well informed I tell them the truth as I see it, if not well informed or hostile I tell them that " It is a gift of my Mother" ( they don't need to know about the capital M).

I have had instances where I have been told that I could not where it at work, I no longer work for those companys.I also have had battles with the Washington State Dept. of Education, my son was almost expelled for wearing his to the middle school he was attending at the time, The W.S D.E. had listed the pentagram, anch, and the Star of David as cult or gang symbols in the educators handbook. A friend of mine introduced me to a Rabbi friend of hers who not only understood about Wicca but was willing to stand up to the state with me. We got the " handbook" problem fixed.

I wear my pentagram in public all the time I do not feel ashamed of being wiccan nor should christians or any other religion hide there neclace/jewlry. I'm 12 years old and I am now homeschooled, but when I was in school I did not wear my pinny because I don't ugh want to go through with all those kids asking me whats that star mean. In public now some people ask me am I jewish or what does that star or sometimes even lambasts of being a witch occur to my father, but I really don't give a cockameme what people think about my family and My religion and the world will never all be one religion we all know that so keep it cool and don't care what others think . Hey,

Yes I do wear my pentagram in public, I am proud of being a wiccan. All though the only way I can hide it is to wear long neck shirts, I always wear it even at school. I have explain to my 'real' friends what it really means and they are okay with it. The only comment I got about it was last week and I have been wearing mine for 1 year and a half, ever since I got it. The comment was the usual "Do you worship the devil or something?" question and I just told him straight out that I didn't even believe in the devil. He hasn't metioned it since and we are getting along fine.

I think that we should be proud of our religion and ignore those that would say things against us. I even had a friend of a friend tell me that you could do a spell that would force someone not to move (she's not wiccan and doesn't believe in it) and she kept inisisting that you could to the amusement of my self and my friend. Those types of people you should just ignore. Be proud and wear your pentagram when ever you can

Of course, it doesn't hurt that I live in San Francisco, the most forgiving town in the world for any kind of "difference"; but, yes, I wear it every day, and outside my shirt. Not only that, but everyone at work knows I'm a Witch, and that my husband recently began studying the Craft with me (after 25 years! blew my mind), and they ask very nicely "how did last night's ritual go?" and are genuinely interested in my answer.

I feel incredibly fortunate.

Funny thing, I used to wear a very nice silver dagger with a garnet in the hilt, about an inch long, as a pendant, and I got more static about that than I've ever gotten about the pentacle. i just told whoever asked that the dagger stood for "the sharp power of my mind to discriminate between good and evil", and this was enough to send them away looking slightly bemused. But pentacle hassles? Naah. Guesss it all depends on where you live....

I wear my pentacle all the time. I actually have 2, one is a charm on a necklace and the other is a ring. I would never try to hide who I really am. That would be like me lying to myself. I did have one girl at this place that I used to work tell me to put my pentacle inside my shirt. I found it irritating because there was another Wiccan who worked with me also, but she was never told this. I found that girls ignorance appalling. But there are many people out there who know only what they see on TV and movies to be the truth about witchcraft.

Blessed Be

I have worn my pentacle in public for Years, I have delt with begin called a Satanist and have a really intrusting way to handle it I usually come off with the comment I'm not a Satanist but did you know that overtime you say Amen you are sending a prayer to a pagan GOD that usually stops them in their tracks. I dont bother to hide what I am from anyone, I decided once that if you didn't like me for who I am the you are not worth being my friend.

I guess I have rambled enough.

Update

Ok i have to send an update to this one,

i guess it's my age showing but i have a new job that forces me to keep my religious beliefs in the broom closet while i am there, i wear my pentacle under my shirt, still never take it off but it is funny sometimes how the goddess will put us in a position that forces us to reevaluate our positions.

my new job is as a preschool teacher, at of all places a Christian academy. Ironic isn't it.

i dont have to teach religious classes so i am fine but it's funny how the goddess puts us in places. I prayed to her for a job in the childcare field and this is what i got.

I am a fourteen years old girl and have been praticing the Craft for about 8 months now. I wear my pentagram outside of my clothing all the time except when I go babysit and when I get home (I haven't quite figured out how to break the news to my mom yet). I wear it at my father's house because he has no problem with it. I had one teacher that told me to hide it but I'm pretty sure she was doing it to protect my feelings. A few people have called me Satan or Devil Worshipper but I just ignore them and after a while they get bored and leave me alone. I have better things to do than listen to uninlightened people make accusations about things they don't understand. My friends think its cool or just don't care or are Wiccans too. I wear my pentagram with pride because it shows who I am inside. No one should have to hide it.

Merry Meet

I just read the question and i decided i would put my two cents in. I'm fourteen and i am just getting really into the craft i have been wanting to for a while now and I'm finally doing if anyone has any tips they are all welcome. In answer to the question i haven't gotten my pentacle yet but it is in the mail and when i get it yes I'm going to wear it in public and at school. I know I'm going to have problems with the school board because it is against the rules for us to wear a five pointed star because of gang relations but if they force me to take it off i will go to court i know that sounds drastic but I'm willing to go that far if that's what it takes for me to show what i believe in.

I wear a pentagram, created for me by a witch herself. Made in sterling silver it is enclosed in a silver circle with ivy around it, it is really beatiful. I wear my pentagram proudly, I'm not afraid to show who I am. Wearing my jewelry keeps me protected. It's a symbol of the elements and it's a symbol of my faith. I am a strong believer in Wicca and I'm not about to hide it. Recently, I went to a bead store and made a choker containing all the gems that has meaning. Now I wear that choker along with my pentagram. Sure, I get stares, but so far no one has approached me. I hear whispers around me in stores and I just ignore it. People say "look, she's a witch." and the love of my life says, "yes indeed, she is, a very beautiful one."

I wear my pentagram openly in public and fairly openly if I start work in a new place(I'm a contract employee). I answer questions honestly to those who are genuinely interested.

However I used to work with a born again christian who would come to me on the occaissional rampage and start in with:

So, you worship the devil right? Satanist, right?

You sacrifice children, mutilate animals, hexes, etc.etc.etc.

I told her quietly and calmly that we don't believe in the devil so we would not worship him. That technically you have to be a christian to be a satanist because only the christians believe in him.

As to human sacrifices--the most well known human sacrifice in the world was her own Jesus Christ, did he not die for her sins??

And I could be wrong but when they take the 'bosy and blood' of Christ in their communion--isn't that symbolic cannibalism?!?!

That didn't usually make her happy but it did shut her up........

I am brand new to Wicca but my best friend loaned me her pentacle after we performed a good luck spell for a job interview I was going on. I wore the necklace up until the day of the interview and took it off just before going into the interview. Although I am not ashamed of the pentacle, it is on a black cloth chord and doesn't look "polished" enough for the suit I was wearing. If it had been on a silver chain, I would have worn it with the outfit.

I have been a practicing Wiccan for 4 years, and yes I do wear my pentacle(s) in public. I actually have two pendants, earrings, a ring and a pentacle tatoo. Although I don't wear them all at once I like to wear at least one all the time, which is why I got the tatoo. It reminds me that the Goddess is with me always.

I have had some problems with people who think I worship the devil, and many people ask me questions but the most frequent is, "are you Jewish", so I don't have big problems. Most people are really good about it.

Merry meet

I'm a fourteen years old witch, and I live in a real small town, where everybody talks about everybody.

I wear my Pentagram for almost two years, and I suppose people would deal with that ok. I guess I was wrong, because there is always someone calling me Satanist. One night me and my friends went out for a walk (some of us use to wear black) and people in the cars were always screaming "Hey, you witches" or "Satanists".

At first, I felt really bad about it, and I used to hid my Pentagram. But today I don't mind and I keep it always out of my shirt. I never take it off, except when I go to sleep.

Thanks you all for share this experience...

Yes, I do wear my pentacle and almost all the time. I take it off to workout and that's about it. Mostly, I receive comments that it is very beautiful (it's a silver star with a circle of turquoise in the middle for my birth stone) and a few people have asked me what it's for. I've told them that it is a holy symbol to me, much like a Christian might wear a cross. My pentacle is extremely valuable to me and I find that wearing it brings me a sense of peace and connectedness to the Universe. I frequently handle it while I am in meetings, on the phone, or engaged in other relationship building activities. Sliding it along it's chain is a very physical reminder of the preciousness of each passing moment. I always feel better with it on, whether over my clothes, or against my skin. I am proud to be Wiccan and also recognize my great fortune in being able to be so open about my religious beliefs.

Namaste,

To answer the question is very simple for me.......The pentacle is very important in my path.......but I do NOT place special attention to wearing it as a jewlery peace nor do I due to my path have one on my altar......I am out of the closet and have been since I graduated highschool.......I wear other jewlery such as gems and cyrstals and symbols that speak to me or are important to my path.........when ppl do ask me questions about my religion I tell them frankly what I believe.......if they choose not to accept that so be it........they don't have to live my life.........I answer to the Goddesses and Gods above not a person whom I speak to in passing or in my family. I am a Celtic Pagan Priestess and proud of it I do not need jewlery not symbols to let ppl know that.

I am shocked, I am shocked at some of the comments I have read today. I guess we as people really haven't come that far, have we?

I wear a necklace and a ring and not once have I been told to take it off or been looked down apon, wicca is my faith. I have been asked questions and I simply repley my star means the same to me as the cross does to you.

I guess it bothers me that we are still thought of as satan worshipers when we ourselves don't even believe in satan( or atleast I don't)

I think we need to educated the people around us a little more. We really can't be letting teachers and co-workers or bosses tell us how to live our life. As long as we don't have a naked thing or around our neck what are we harming? It's a star. There are millions of them in the sky.

if anyone would like to corresponse with me about this issue or other issues reguarding wicca please e-mail

I never take my pentacle off, and i wear it for everyone to see. Once I was asked to take it off, by a photographer just after I had won a county championship in barrel racing. The picture was never put in the local paper. I wrote to the photograper and asked why and he told me it was because I was a wiccan and a devil worshiper. Needless to say, his ass is in county jail now. I get alot of looks and questions, but I'm ok with that as long as the interveiwer is not being hypocritical. Nobody is very educated in the ways and principals of Wicca/Paganism in my small town. In fact, I don't think anyone in my state (Wyoming) is. I've gotten a few of my friends into Witchcraft, and we are doing our best to repay the Gods/Goddesses for their gifts by educating the naive people of America about who we are.

However, we are not allowed to wear any jewellery at our school, so that's the only time i don't have it showing, but, i do have it tucked down my shirt and if ever i do a test, i hold it tight in my left hand and feel a surge of strenght come to me.

I do not wear a pentacle, because I do not own one. None of my family knows that I am Wiccan, except for my little sister who knows most of my secrets. I paint a silver pentagram on my right ankle. It shows that I have chosen the right hand path, since it is drawn on my left ankle. Most people who see it either take it as a joke and ask me if they can borrow my broom sometime, or take me most seriously and ask me if I can help them in someway. Either way, we have nothing to prove to anybody.

The place I work at is pretty cool about everything, and besides a few dirty looks from teachers and one or two death threats from students, I've had no problems. If anyone ever asked me to cover it up at work or school, I'd simply tell them that freedom of religion and expression is my choice, and that I am simply choosing to exercise those rights.

It is very beautiful. A simple cross laid pentacle with the celtic symbol going all the way around it. The memebers in my coven (Emberwood) gave it to me on yule of 2001. They're such wonderful friends.

I wear my pentacle every day, but most of the time I have it tucked in. I like to keep it close to my heart. I take it out every now and then. mostly for my friends. They like to hold it in their hands. Some of my best friends are Christian, but they are respectful of my belief, and always somewhat curious.

I am proud to be a witch, and I know in my heart that I am, and have no need to flaunt my belief. But if asked nicely, I will share.

Yes, I wear it all the time. I don't wave it in people's faces, but I don't hide it either & if somebody asks what it means, I will tell them what it means to me {Such as the 5 points relating to ether, earth, air, fire & water.} I also wear an ankh on the same necklace, so this all goes for that, too.

I haven't really had all that much comment on it, though. A couple of people have asked what it means, and have been happy with the answer I gave them, treating me no differently afterwards. My sister's children are at a young age, the eldest being a teenager who has just got into metal & thinks he has to embrace every cliche {i also like rock & metal music, but obviously have no 'devil' connections!} My nephew has on occasion asked me about the 'devil's star' around my neck, and I have calmly explained the truth. not sure if he understands yet, though!!

I am sixteen years old and as proud a pagan as anyone, but I do not wear my pentagram, even though I was raised in the Craft and am respected by my friends and family. There are still those who, in ignorance or for lack of understanding, fear the pentagram symbol, even though now, more than ever (and for this I count myself lucky) there is a growing tolerence for witches, and even an interest in them, growing in the general public.I do not fear their prejudices, but I don't want to scare them away with a symbol before they can see what it truly represents. I want them to get to know me, to see that I am good person, deeply spiritual, and not a devil worhsiper at all. It's easier to do this if I'm not waving a pentacle around. Sometimes I don't even call myself a witch, so that the dark age negative associations that cling to the word do not come up in our every conversation. I am very openly out of the broom closet (as I never had to go into one) but I don't like to visually bash people over the head with my pentagram. Once they understand it, I can wear it around them. It is part of the way I follow. To dare. To be silent. But I do appreciate other pagans wearing pentagrams! It helps me recognize other people I can seak to and share wisdom with.

Brightest Blessings,

Ever and always,

I BELIEVE THE QUESTION WAS DO YOU WEAR YOUR PENTAGRAM. MY ANSWER IS YES!!! OUTSIDE MY SHIRT, EVERYDAY, ALL THE TIME, EVERYWHERE I GO! I WAS BORN A WITCH. MY GREAT-GRANDMOTHER WAS BORN WITH THE "SIGHT". I TOO, CAN SEE THINGS BEFORE THEY HAPPEN. I'VE RUN IN TOO A FEW NASTY SITUATIONS. MOSTLY WITH MY MOTHER-IN LAW! I HAD A HARD TIME GETTING HER TO UNDERSTAND THAT WICCANS ARE NOT SATAN WORSHIPERS! MY HUSBAND AND I ARE BOTH WICCANS. SO WHEN WE GOT MARRIED (MANY YEARS AGO!) WE WERE JOINED IN A HANDFASTING TOO. WE FLEW HIS MOM HOME FOR THE BIG EVENT. EVERYTHING WAS PEACHY TILL SHE FOUND OUT.ISIS BLESS HER, BUT THE "S*#T" HIT THE FAN. I GAVE HER A BOOK AND TRIED TO EXPLAIN THE BEST I COULD WITHOUT FREAKING HER OUT MORE. BY THE TIME THE HANDFASTING TOOK PLACE SHE WAS TYING BROOMS AND BELLS TO MY ARCH AND ALTER. THE GODDESS WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS! SO WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY IS STICK TO YOUR GUNS, DON'T TRY TO CONVERT FOLKS. THEY EITHER WORK IT OUT, OR THEY DON'T. AND BESIDES, I THOUGHT THAT WAS WHY WE ALL LIVED IN A FREE COUNTRY! BRIGHT BLSSINGS, MUCH LOVE, MOON ROSE

I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A NEW PENTAGRAM NECKLACE, AND I WILL MOST DEFFINETLY WEAR IT MOST OF THE TIME. BUT I WILL KEEP IT HIDDEN UNDER MY SHIRT. I BELIEVE THAT RELIGION IS A PERSONAL THING AND THAT I DO NOT NEED TO FLAUNT A PENTAGRAM NECKLACE TO SHOW HOW PROUD I AM OF MY RELIGION. BLESSED BE TO ALL

YES!!! I've just lost a job because of my pentagram and plus my piercings & tattoos. I worked at a Taco Bell in Monroe,Michigan. The Company is living in the dark ages. What can a brother do to make then learn that Wiccans have rights also under the code of the law ............. Blessed be, Raven Knightshade

Hi My name is Elaine. I wear my pentigram jewellery all the time. My ears are pierced and the last hole has a dangling pentigram on one side. I wear a medium sized gold pendant on a charm catcher around my neck with other special charms that have meanings to me. I also wear a tasteful gold pentigram ring on my right hand. I am right handed too. Many people notice the ring but not many notice the earing or pendant. Most people say "I didn't know you were Jewish" and I just laugh and say I am not. I leave it at that unless they ask or make a comment. Most people don't know what it is. I have only had one incident where someone made a nasty comment about it. They called me a witch and I just said "That I am" When they proceed to badmouth me, I asked them if they thought it was a wise thing to say such nasty things to a witch, were they not worried what might happen? The look on the person's face was so ammusing that myself and the others around me could not contain our laughter as they quickly walked away. Some people are inquisitive and ask me more about it and if they are interested enough, I will explain my beliefs to them and that my pentigram is like Christians wearing a Cross or Jews wearing a Star of David. Most times I have people asking questions and are interested in learing wicca. Most will say well I believe in that too. So we are not much different.

Hello! My name's Carmen, and I'm 19. I haven't worn a pentacle in a while, but when I did I never got any flack about it. The one in question was made out of green and silver beads, and was quite large. The only comment I ever received about it was from a polite elderly lady on the bus. I live in Alaska, and she asked me if I was into Alaska Native beadwork, and if I worked at the Alaska Native Heritage Center (a place that educates people about Alaska Native culture and beliefs.) I just smiled and said, "Nah," but I did agree that I was into beadwork. =P

I wear my pentagrams in public any where I go, even to my boyfriend's parents house and their church. They like to think that if they can get me to go to a church with them, I will just "give up" and join their religion. They tell me to hide it and/or take it off.I told them that I am not ashamed of who I am or what my pentagram represents. This is my faith. My path I have chosen. They teach that you should not judge 1 another, but yet they judge everybody.Yes, I have been called a "Satanist", and thease people that say this are the Christians.I can tell you of a time I was in a store and this woman aproaches me and says: "I'm not afraid of you Satan" and she tried to so called "rebuke" me in such a negative manner, that she had a definite negative aura and it phisically gave me a migrane. The boyfriend I spoke of earlier, is an ex-Christian himself cause he saw fit that it was time for him to follow a different path, that is the same as mine.Ever since then, his mom rides his nerves about going back to Christianity that he has a high calling on his life to preach to other Christians, and to leave the "Satanic" worship alone, including me.I have had a problem trying to get out of a marriage that is dead and the husband ran to a different state and went in hiding, I cannot afford to get a leagal divource and they say i'm going to their Hell. They all judge me cause i'm not financially able to get a divource.Sometimes my boyfriend gets so tired of his mom making him feel guilty, that he has left me on a number of occasions. The first thing we can do to improve the negative image we Wiccans have, is to testify to a lot of Christians that we are not a "Satanic cult".It is to simply let them know that Christanity is not for everyone.People need to find and travel there own path to find enlightenment. There is no Right or Wrong path.

Hello,I myself am a Christian (Born-again at that),with no "traditional additives". I've been married to a Muslim and had went to a Jewish school, my father was an open minded man. Inspired me to read about all religions as it enhanced own. I also was very "different"(if you know what I mean). I know many Christians would be shocked at me( I beleve some witches, too),but I do believe that I am a witch but am not a Wiccan. I have only One, who I leave for the "bottom line" with many of my wishes, wants or needs. It took me a great while with much studying to come to this conclusion( but nothing is ever quite concluded, is it?),I'm still growing, spiritually, I am 43. I have yet to come across this thought to be oxymoronic perception of religion, myself." A Christian witch??"I guess there will have to be more than a hand few of us to make it official (hee hee). The reason I'm only saying that I beleive I am a witch, and not just saying that I am has to do with people's acceptance, so I kind of know what your going through, kiddo. I encourage you to do what you feel that is right for YOU. I am happy that YOU are open minded and educating others is the key here. Many people don't even know witches exist. Now how about that Christian witch?? Blessed Be and Happy Beltaine's!! )O( Elaine

I wear mine often,as I have many types to pick from.I use it as a sign of protection and to keep people away from Me who nothing but trouble.I am a Christian and it is a known fact that the five pointed star was created as a sign of protection under the Christ. The five points are his five values. The inverted star is that of Baphomet, the Goat headed God of Wicca, not Satan,as it is often marketed as.In the days of the early start, the cross of Christ was looked at as the death of God,so they created the star as a sign of the eternal living being. Also the moon ,which is held by many as the sign of the Goddess,is actually the horned ones crown on which the Goddess is seated. The Goddess is not the true God of Wicca,it is the horned one, just as it is stated in the Christian Bible.I will be seen by all, upon My brow will be golden rams horns,My hair will be white as snow and My eyes blood red like the fire of rubies in the sun.Sadly for the most part others just call themselves Witches, but are all for personal show and do not even understand what they are wearing or doing. To reject the God ,is to cut yourself off.To add insult just to be seen or to attract others,is foolish. Those who do such things are just as the Christan's who talk and judge you,yet forget to shut up and be a submit to the God.We are still living in the dark ages, sadly.

I certainly do where my pentagram EVERY DAY. I have a tattoo of one, on my foot. I can choose when and where I want to show it that way. I don't really care what people think of it. I used to wear a necklace ALL the time but then a friend asked me to take it off so he could look at it and he put it in the garbage disposal. Needless to say I never talked to him again.

Yes, I wear a Pentagram necklace and I also have a Pentagram ring that I wear. I wear both proudly. My youngest daughter has a Pentagram necklace as well and has been told to take off her necklace since it seemed to upset all the Christians in her school. She refused, was suspended and when I found out about it, I hit the roof! I (and other Pagan parents) successfully fo

I have a pentagram pendant and a pentagram tattoo and I wear both with pride. It took me a long time to figure out what I wanted for a tat and when I saw a flash for the pentagram I knew I had to have it. Whenever people ask me what it is, I simply state that it is NOT a satanic symbol and it is in fact a symbol of protection. Not very many people ask about it outright..which is fine with me too. Actually I have the exact opposite with my friends. They get mad at me when I hide my pentagram necklace. I have already been told Im going to hell for supporting and being Bisexual. I have others in school that are younger tat honestly think I can fly and can turn people into frogs and force someone to fall inlove with that person. I had my school try to tell me that I cannot have occult symbols on. I fought that all the way to the superindentit. I won my fight making it easier for those who are more intimidated by the school system to fight for their right. I now proudly wear my petagram necklace and ring. If I am approached by someone who doesnt like my religouis convictions I stat my point that I dont sacrifice children or kill animals. I give examples of what I do and show that if I worshiped the devil I wouldnt volunteer with elderly, children, and historical role play tours. If they stiil have a problem with me I just say "That is what you believe. You can think what you want of me, but I know who I truelly am." Then I just turn around and walk away.

I am 40 year old solitary, have been practising for many years, I do wear a penticle ( the formula of life ), most of the time -- but recently wore it out. When I had worn it, it was either hidden or not -- depending upon the events of the day etc... niether being intentional. However when it was casully mentioned that I study herbal medicine, my children began to suffer for this-- being shot by BB Guns in our little southern town. Although I never wish Ill on anyone, I also do not turn the other cheek. I meerly asked the universe to teach, and my children had already been under the protection of both the goddess and the earth dragon. The lesson was swift, startling and non lethal, but they will remember.-- but most important it didn't come from me. I embrace my faith whole h
