Have you seen the new movie, Practical Magic?
Tell me what you thought of it

I loved this movie! It was very emotional. Of course, it would be nice to be able to light candles with our breath (especially in a power outage!) That's the "magic" of Hollywood. I would love to have that Book of Shadows! Well, I thought the movie was a positive view of Witchcraft.
Hooray!!!

OH MY GODDESS!! That movie has special meaning to me! Last summer I visited Whidbey Island (where the movie was filmed) and fell in love with it! So much so that I have been planning to open a soap/sundries shop there-as I love to conjur up little goodies with my herbies!(once my rental lease is up). Not only that, but HI, my name is Sally. I hesitated to see it b/c as many of you said-HollyWood, what would they portray about witches now?...But I loved it! Yes, the effects, and the cheesy Dracula cowboy was just too out there-even before he was possessed! Yet, I found myself missing it when I had to return it. It was one of the best portrayals of witches yet! Magick is working its beautiful way into the mainstream folks-thankfully in a positive way. We should all be encouraged!

I recently saw Practical Magic to help me with a term paper on the Hollywood Witch. Although I liked the movie, you have to read the book. The book was much better and did not give the Sally and Gillian extrodinary powers. I enjoyed both the movie and the book, but I fel that the movie gave viewers an unreal side of the craft. It gave people the idea that casting love spells was acceptable, when in fact love is something not to be toyed with useing magic or not.

I was thoroughly delighted to watch Practical Magic fully for the first time, as I had been teased with seeing only the last twenty minutes of it. The likenesses I found to be similar and appreciated Hollywood's portrayal greatly...I must question the part where the Blood of the Moon comes into play, though...or is that only my thought?

I like watching charmed and Buffy personally.. As much as I enjoy Practical Magic. They're all entertaining, but misleading in a lotta ways. I feel movies and shows like these are making a lot of people in our society not only have misconceptions of our ways of life, but also see it as a "cool fad" The term "New Age" can be quite annoying at times. I will have to admit tho.. I like seeing these shows better than ugly green women with warts eating children and terrorizing towns in movies/shows and books.

although i'm not pagan, ,my friends are,and even after i saw the movie,i was convinced that tea cannot stirr itself, and you can't find true love with a spell.i'm sure it portrays the craft in a very positive light, but all the effects were a bit much.it over all looked fake, but had a decent story line.but hey, wiccan or not,i'm all for midnight margaritas!as for raising the dead, that i'm not so in love with.but, whatever works for hollywood is fine with me,since they're the ones making the good money!if there would've been true wiccan's playing the parts,it may have been more believable.
ajlj@usit.net

I thought Practical Magic was great. Since my best-friend and I love witch movies and have tried to become witches this movie just inspired us to try even harder. One time we tried to summon a dead person. My father asked us why we were taking candles in the woods, we told him what we were doing. He said ok, but not to burn the woods down. Ever since my friend and I have seen the movie, we pretend to be Sally and Jillian. It kind of sounds weird cuz we are both 18 and shouldn't be doing that, but it is fun acting out the scenes.
Sincerely yours,
flirtygirl86@hotmail.com

I loved Practical Magic ! Love is the key to life. I am a wiccan and we love all things. The movie showed that people should not be closed minded about witches and that if we come together we could overcome anything !
Kewpielove@webtv.net

I saw the movie practical magic three times and I have it on tape, I thought it was a wonderful movie, the flying and supreme holly wood magic are something to be left. But my favorite part was when they did the circle with their brooms and blessed the possessed sister. I almost cried the emotions were so strong. That is real magic.
Manda Lynn

I loved this movie, especially the relationships between the sisters and aunts. I had been off and on, thinking about the wiccan religion. (always feeling right about it but never quite thinking it right) This movie did it for me. Although Hollywood stuck it's outrageous "wand" into the plot, the feeling was right.........
nitemare@siscom.net

I've seen the movie twice so far and like it very much. For all those people who've commented on its religious accuracy I'd like to piont out 1) when was the last time you saw a movie that correctly described any religion, including christianity? :) and 2) witch does not equal wicca. I thought this movie was very good about detailing the life of some famtrad witches - people raised with paganism and magic. I went into this expecting another "craft" and was pleasantly suprised. While I did not like the book as much I think it expressed some of the finer points better. I fully intend to buy it when it comes out on video - even with the " hollywood stuff" !( and that raising the dead boyfriend thing was pretty funny ! )

I give it four stars

Hey,
though it was a while ago I saw Practical Magic at the cinema, I was incredilbly pleased to see that they had actually read thoughtfully into wicca and witchcraft unlike the shockingly horrible movie The Craft. It protrayed the fact that not all witches dress in black and ride around on brooms hexing people. Though it was definetley over-exaggerated but it still had its basics. I would just like to say that i wish there is no such ting as the movie The Craft.

As I am only 13 and was 12 when i first saw it, it inspired me to delve deeper into wiccan belief and magick. But it also gave me a different idea to what wicca and witchraft was. It was until i started reading up on it when i realised how wrong in fact The Craft was...

Thanx for Reading This
Love and Light
Linda

I loved the movie! It has the most positive image of witchcraft I have ever seen, even if it is a little overdone. And to all those mad that it doesn't cover Wicca's beliefs...well, it never said they were Wiccan...just a very old Family Trad of Witches.

Merry meet All,
Well, I hate to redundant, but I too enjoyed the film. Its nice to have a little positive PR in the public's awareness.
Brightest Blessings,

I loved Practical Magic! It had such wonderful actors in it, and it was written so well! I give my praises to it and the writer(s)!

I saw the movie Practical Magic, and enjoyed it. It was also rather inaccurate, but this is what Hollywood does. I'm glad to see Wicca/Witchcraft portrayed in a positive way, although the movie does present the image that one spell can make a lot of karma go away. I'm a Wiccan, and have been one for around three or four years, although I have been attracted to it from the age if two. Since I'm only 13, I was given crap about my religion at school. I live in a small southern town, and the only other Wiccan is my best friend. We've had to put up with a lot because of what people think Wicca is, and we're both glad that movie might change a few people's minds.

Goddess Bless,
Jaia

I always get excited when a new "witchy" movie comes out but I must say I was completly thrilled with Practical Magic. For the most part I feel it was accuretly portrayed, of corse hollywood throws some (fairly good) special effects to keep the general public enthralled, they have to, to keep it open to all. I love how "homey" and comfortable the set up the town and house itself. you have to fall in love with the caractors (especially the aunts) and I left with a great feeling of warmth and a hope that others will understand "every one has a little witch in them"

The goddess is alive; magick is afoot!
renee369@webtv.net

We rented the movie Practical Magic and found it to be one of the best movies we had seen this year. I felt that it portrayed the modern Witch in a very good light, as long as you overlook the hollywood hype that must be put in for the mundane to trip out on. If there wasn't a touch of "hocus pocus" the only ones who would have seen it woyuld have been the pagan community (and the Sandra Bullock fans). I would have to give it four stars out of four.
HDAlways@aol.com

I like this movie for the reasons following: the herbal garden ::::::jealous::::::and the fact that these "witches" were proven not to be shunned (in the end) by their beliefs. I thought the boyfriend scenario/posession was a little far-fetched, but aren't most movies? I'd have to give this movie 3 stars*** out of 5.
MedMomMo@aol.com aka:WILLOUGH

As a young, and still learning Wiccan, I found Practical Magic.....nice by the way of the movie's description of this beautiful religion's temperament, as opposed to the horrid The Craft. Otherwise, I found the movie devoid of any intellectual and entertainment value. Of course, the movie producers and so forth had to exaggerate the practice of Wicca, because a sad fact about our culture is that movie tickets wouldn't sell otherwise.

The novel by Alice Hoffman (obviously on which the movie was based) was more charming (pun intended)and comes highly recommended for me. As being based on this captivating novel, I can tell that the movie is way off, but I guess that's the way Hollywood works, now isn't it?
Katy Carson

My wife and I rented practical magic from the Pay-Per-View channel and I felt I had to add my impression to the others. I thought it was the most positive film on The Craft that has been made yet. It portrayed wiccans in a positive light and showed that we are not a bunch of crazed devil-worshippers sacrificing babies and others to the devil under the full moon. It was a pleasant suprise to see that we were shown to be community-oriented and had concerns and problems like anyone else. Okay, we deal with problems in a different way than most people but we are as positive and helpful as anyone and we care about our community, the earth and our families as well.

All in All I felt that it was a very good movie and (as a few others mentioned) some parts were exaggerated but Hollywood has it's rules just like any other business.

With all the faults in the exaggeration of flying, raising the dead and love spells (a better portrayal than in "The Craft", I thought)it was a very good movie.

Let's just hope that Hollywood keeps looking for facts dealing with the Craft and doesn't keep to the old stereotypes that we have been trying to overcome for so long.
Kala_Astrid@yahoo.com

I thought it was a delightful movie! Granted, it was not a COMPLETELY accurate account of the craft, but then again, if Hollywood made a movie that was accurate, it would be rather boring. I mean, come on, this movie actually portrayed witches as loving, caring, individuals who had jobs, families, and the same sorts of problems that everyone else does. It showed that magic is not the answer to everything, and that you reap what you sow. Yes, bringing someone back from the dead is pure Hollywood, but when you look back and think about it, the sisters had to deal, threefold, with the consequences of their actions, regardless of how extravagant the situation was.

I think it was enlightening that the entertainment industry has finally tried to make up for the stereotype they helped to promote. they did have a decent amount of true information within the story, albeit with Hollywood dazzle thrown in. But as I've already stated, if they hadn't added Hollywood glitz no one would want to see it. No one who is not in the craft would have any interest in paying for the ticket, and honestly, I think a great many people who are "crafty" would be rather bored by it. In my opinion, if it got just one person who had no true idea what witchcraft/wicca was to go and read a book, then it did good. I think this movie did just that.
Shannon L. Clement

I have seen Practical Magick, and while it had it's faults, it was overall a good movie.

True, this movie failed to show Magick as any aspect of a religion, but, I'm not going to complain too much, since it DID somewhat make things accurate for once. No flying around on broomsticks and throwing frogs in a huge black cauldron so we can give someone warts. Also, I did encounter a mistake or two in their information... But, I can overlook that because it's no big deal what they messed up on.

As for the Witchie family being completely unaccepted by everyone around them.. that's quite accurate... And many witches fight for acceptance. However.... Poisining the guy?? No true Witch would do that, but, it's Hollywood, and I don't think they can have a movie withought some sort of disaster or something like that happening...

I give it 3 1/2 stars!

Everyone's got an opinion, so here's mine..

Hollywood is gonna make their money whether it offends someone or not... The offence of one or few won't cause that big of a blow to their net profit... But I went to the movie and was very well entertained... So some of it may be wrong, oh well, I didn't find ANY of it "offensive" and personally (we all have our opinions so let me say this) I think some of these people's comment are over-reactive and insufficient. Give your comments as you please but think before you speak... Always! But as for the movie, I liked it, I did find it more fitting to our ways and it did have a lot of little things in there that you KNOW the producer consulted a wise one of us about.. But C'mon people.. This is Hollywood and their gonna do their thing. If you want to make a difference, don't take offence to minor stuff when you can go out and open peoples' minds yourself! If you must, make your own million dollar movie that people like and make it legitimate.
Thanx

To all those who think that the movie would be a documentary to Witch Craft, WAKE UP! Get real, it was a movie, based on life! You should jump in line with the people to have a problem with Disney movies. Over all, I loved the movie. It made you feel good and made me want to open more to what I have inherited from my mother. I always knew there was a little "witch" in me but I really never cared to listen to her. But this movie gave me hope that I should take a look at that part of me and maybe start to explore it more.
Kcat423@aol.com

We liked the movie for the most part, thought it true to form regarding most people's first reactions to the Craft, etc. I also liked the fact that the woman were protrayed as everyday people, children and all. Some was a bit overdone, but hey, again, we're talking Hollywood.
E&L

I have to say, having just finished watching the movie for the first time not thirty minutes ago, that "Practical Magic" was the best portrayal of the Craft that I, personally, have seen. I enjoyed it to the extent that the exorcism scene moved me to tears by the time the credits had appeared. I felt it's positive portrayals can create a more subtle reaction from the public, as well.
-LydiaFae-

I thoroughly enjoyed 'Practical Magic', as entertainment. In true Hollywood style it was lacking in some major beliefs, and yet I do recall Sandra Bullock's character correcting Aiden Quinn's in that there's no devil in the craft. No, the God and Goddess were never mentioned to my recollection, but let's not forget that in fairness there are witches out there who are not Wiccans, and this too seems to be the case in 'Practical Magic'. So, all things taken with the usual grain of salt, it was a fun, romanticised movie to watch, that reminded some of us of the time when we were first intrigued by witchcraft and had that seed of curiosity planted, leading us on a journey with no end...
lara_s@usa.net

I've seen the movie so many times that I'm driving people in my home alittle off. I have had alot of simmular insidents happen to me that had happenend in the movie . the movie to me was embelished alittle but not much. these woman protrayed their pshyci powers and other gifts well. if you have the faith of a mustard seed you can move mountains. I like the movie ALOT.
thanks & Blessings Be to thee;

I would have to say that it was probaly the best movie on the craft that is out there. It really left people with a good impression on hte craft and it included alot of things that Wiccans believe. Although some of it was a little exagerated, I still liked it. I'd have to give it 4 stars.
Silverflame

I saw Practical Magic as I make myself go see all the witch movies just to give them a chance. I must say that while once again it was not an accurate picture, it was positive PR. I would have to say I would rather them make movies like this than "The Craft" anyday. We can only dream of the day they finally get it right.
princesmidnight@hotmail.com

I took my whole family to see Practical Magic and we LOVED it. O.K. so there was a lot of Hollywood special effects in it, but lets face it, a movie about magic or Wicca probably isn't going to sell without the special effects. At least they weren't as dramatic as the "witches flying" scene in The Craft. The whole big scene with the spirit of the poisoned boyfriend was entirely feasible, if somewhat dramatised. But the important point of the whole show was that it painted a more positive picture of witches. We are not some evil succubi (or incubi) lurking in the shadows to steal your firstborn. We're people, part of the community, just like everyone else, who just want to live and love and have friends, and worship our gods as we please. I think that the final acceptance of the Owens family at the end of the movie also carries an important message of hope, that if we cease our secretive activities and are honest with people that we will find acceptance. Of course, that's in a movie world not the real world, but one can hope.

Hello,
My partner and I went to see this movie and had a few thoughts about it which I will share with you.

I was thrilled that perhaps the Pagan/Witch community might see a movie that portrayed us in a positive light without all the usual hocus-pocus bologna.

I was delighted with the movie as a whole. Although there are a few points I would like to make..... We found the murder..accidentally albiet...of the boyfriend and the following resurrection scene to be a bit offensive. Not only can we not..at least I haven't heard of anyone .. perform a "bring them back from the dead" ritual but these witches bumbling thru this circumstance and then killing him again and then lying about it is not within our rede. I got the overall impression from this movie that witches/pagans are still viewed with a note of unbelievability and far-fetched circumstances. Overall, I felt the movie had redeeming qualities and was enjoyable but we both felt a little of holloywood was thrown in for ticket sales. I believe this movie could have been great without this twist in the story line. I tried not to enter the theatre with any expectations but alas I found myself leaving the theatre a bit disappointed.

Basically the underlying issue for me is the portrayal of these women as lying, fumbling, uneducated witches and for me that isn't a positive representation of how I see myself and other women in the Craft.

Sincerely,
Ocean WindSong

I recently saw "Practical Magic" w/my boyfriend and some friends-and when the credits started rolling, we all agreed that it was one of the stupidest movies we had ever paid to see!!!
ldpowers@gte.net

i thought it was a good movie.... im not usualy into so called chickflicks (even thought i m a girl,,, weird eh?) and the stuts weird exagerated (like the flying.. GET REAL!!) but it is hollywood, adn it is better than the evil broom and moon miss-conception it showed that stuff comes back to u, and that we arent THAT crazy(moxt of us ::prettend phyco laught:::) so, for a movie, it was good(but the love spell thig was just bad..... real bad.. trust me... bad)
Broomfire@aol.com

Really enjoy your site, it is a major research area for me. Myself and my three "sisters" all saw practical magick...we all enjoyed it. Granted it was not completely accurate but as one said - it made me want to go home and "work"! None of us could stop smiling and feeling really great about who we are and the path we have chosen for yet another lifetime together. It was fun - and it's message seemed clear. There are always consequences to all we do and "no harm" is a good motto to remember. With smiles and blessings..
Rowan

When I saw Practical Magic, It opened my eyes to the idea of Witchcraft, see I come from a long line of Witches, but I was not brought up in that type of Environment so I haven't a clue what to do with this most intriguing Idea. I loved it the movie and I wish to learn more about this historical religion
isle_mac@nanaimo.ark.com

I have seen Practical Magic several times and visited the movie's website. I found it to be a pretty good portrayal of kitchen witches. Regardless of the Hollywood-type problems, there were several important points made by the movie. Magic doesn't work unless you believe it has power. It is unethical to force the will of another and the consequences are more serious than most people realize. Pagans should realize that regardless of what Hollywood puts into movies about the Craft, people who are searching for their path see these movies and are led to visit their local metaphysical store. When they do, we as pagans must not ridicule them and their search. We must understand the level they are at and relate to them where they can get it. To do otherwise is to present an image of pagans which reinforces that negative stereotype we all complain about. Because we understand our place on the path, we should be able to understand the frustrations of others who are just starting out.

I thought Practical Magik was soooo cool. It was very good and very well thought out.
Amy Grego

I found the movie refreshingly delightful. I would definately watch it again. Although a few things where not completely accurate, but remembering it was meant just for entertainment, so some things were to say the least "emblished" for the big screen. I found the aunts to be two lovely ladies that I would love to have grown up with as part of my own family. I have always enjoyed their work. Oh the whole I say "Great" I give it a 3 1/2 stars!!
Blessings and thanks
grnhawk1@gte.net

I loved Practical Magic! It involved magick more as a theme in this movie, but the way magick was portrayed in this film was delicious! I loved the scene in which they made margaritas! It made me laugh so much...see this movie, it may be girly but it is very good. By the way, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are really beautiful with long hair...
Ophelia

I went to see this movie with hopes of an accurate portrayal of wiccan life, and I was dissapointed. While the movie did portray the witches in a fairly positive light, it was aslo really farfetched (raising the dead. come on!). Also no mention of the Goddess or God. They totally neglected the religious aspect of Wicca. So while it was entertaining, I did not personally find it to be fulfilling.
fullmoon@exit3.com

I thought the movie was wonderful! As Wicca becomes the fastest growing religion, my only hope is for more and more positive portrayals in the media. It's about time that we are shown in a good light, and not as creepy old hags huddled over a cauldron filled with a nasty potion.

And I'd also like to mention that there is a fictional book entitled "Practical Magic" by Alice Hoffman. 10 minutes into the movie, it dawned on me why the story seemed familiar. I had read the book a few years ago (before I became "Crafty"). There are many changes but I'm sure the movie is based on this book.
Blessed Be!
brigid_1@webtv.net

I recently saw the movie Practical Magic and enjoyed it thouroughly. Although not every aspect of the movie was factual (in regard to the religion of Wicca), it did portray witches as real people, with jobs and friends and families. I thought that this was very refreshing. I also enjoyed the warmth and humor and quirky characters in this movie. I reccommend it not only to my Wiccan friends, but to everyone who likes a fun, sweet, and unique movie that leaves them feeling all warm and mushy inside after it ends.
-Cyan

P.S. Didn't you enjoy the aunts very much? I loved them, and I'll be sure to implement some of their parenting techniques when I start a family. :o)

I saw the movie Practical Magic with a close friend, who is learning with me about the new religious path we've chosen for ourselves (wiccan). The movie was terrific! Not like "The Craft", or any other witchcraft-type movie I've seen before. It showed that things can't happen just by saying the right words or mixing the right herbs. You have to be dedicated and believe in what you're doing, heart and soul. Like the aunts said, "You can not practice magic while looking down your nose at it." I loved the movie, and strongly suggest everyone, non-wiccan included, to go and watch it.
~Amanda

I saw Practical Magic, and I thought it was a really well made movie. What I liked most about it is its message that family and community togetherness is important. The magic scenes were good and not exagerated. I actually left the movie feeling good, but missing my sisters, who live cross country. Kudos to Griffin Dunne!
Shawna1297@aol.com

I loved it. I truly think it is our "Fiddler on the Roof". I cried at the end, and then they cut on the Stevie Nicks song on the soundtrack, and knowing she's Wiccan in real life I cried even more. A truly inspirational film.
Magnolia

I think the movie was fun to watch, but Hollywood still needs to put in their idea of witchcraft no matter what Wiccan advisors tell them. Then again, wouldn't it be great to light a candle by just blowing on the wick? But, all in all, the witches were portrayed in a positive light, a small victory for Wiccans everywhere.
Blessed be,
Labhran

I enjoyed it. It portrayed witchcraft in a way that the general population and the media can understand. While not being entirely accurate - there were very few things that I disagreed with. The characters were normal people which I liked a lot. All in all, it was one of the better movies I've seen concerning witchcraft/wicca.
Jerah

I really liked the movie. That's the way love spells are supposed to be cast. On yourself and not on someone else. They never work right that way. I had a very good feeling about the movie and myself when I walked out of the theater. I was actually surprised at the number of people in the theater with me. In my neighborhood you don't show that beaautiful star hanging around your neck without getting a nasty look.
FLNWITCHY@aol.com

I saw Practical Magic and I loved it! It was very lovely to watch. The acting was wonderful, the scenery was great, and that house! Wouldn't we all love that house! The portrayal of witches was pretty off, though. I was glad herbs were used often, and they never wanted anyone to give up their dreams, those were good things about the movie. But, I have friends who came out of the theatre asking me if I could fly and did we really bring people back from the dead! I don't want to answer questions that take us back to the old days! Hopefully, Hollywood will become aware that there are other people out there to consult with when they make a movie like that again! But, I definitely recommend this movie! It's well worth our time to see it!
Sorcha

Greetings,
I saw "Practical Magic" with my daughter and we were both delighted. What has stayed with me is the beauty of the film...that lovely old house by the sea, the herb gardens and the two outrageous aunts. It has a kind of "homey" feeling while being mystical and enlightening. I plan to see it again when it comes into video.
Rene'

Hi there! Well, I saw Practical Magic not too long ago, and, even though it did reflect some of those false hollywood effects, I must say I rather enjoyed it. It was good to see Witches portrayed as good and caring and warm-hearted human beings who have problems and feelings and dreams like everyone else. I think Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman played the parts very well, and I hope to see more movies like this in the future. Hopefully the next movie will be even more accurate =0)
--Setsunna--

I have seen "Practical Magic" Three times now, For the most part I think it was a wonder movie. Even though Hollywood juiced up the Craft a great deal, it was not such an embarrassment to us as many films I have seen.
bryan@witchcraft.zzn.com

I loved the movie too!! I know I didn't blink once during the entire = show. It was very captivating and I left the movie with a warm feeling = of what love can really do for all of us. I feel that more movies of = this subject should be made. A definite go see if you haven't = already.... and one you could watch over and over again!!!!
creator@genevaonline.com

Once again Hollywood has produced another crowd pleasing yet inaccurate portrayal of witches. When is a movie going to produced that truly portrays witch-craft? The acting in the movie was great, and I would like for people to believe that I and my sisters could fly....but that isn't so. The movie was definelty positive, up-beat and nonderogitory. It was just not a real account of our practice. They really could have done something with the movie, but unfortunetly, they chose to sell it. The truth about witch-craft is that its our own journey. Its very sober as well exciting. But the fact remains, we do not fly, nor do we glamour, and as far as I know we don't bring people back from the dead! Aside from that it was okay.
cerridwen76@yahoo.com

I recently watched "Practical Magic" and I loved it. I came out of the theatre with a very positive feeling. I'm somewhat new to my chosen path but, I felt that the protrayal was very positive. It seems that all the recent TV shows and movies about Witchcraft have left a bad impression on the general public. Characters and story lines only succeed in feeding the uninformed negative imagination. They've only succeeded in reaffirming everything they've learned by way of their inherited religions. I saw the movie with the women in my office and no one said anything negative about witchcraft. My boss said something that I thought was cute, she said " I wish I was magic!". I wanted so very much to tell her that there is magic in all of us but, it just wasn't the appropriate time to go into it. The movie helped me to remember that anything is possible as long as you believe.
SlvrSn@aol.com

As a non-Wiccan but curious and open minded learner, I found the movie to be great. It shows that you can not cast certain spells such as reviving the dead, and expect everything to be all better again. Of course, the young Sandra Bullock character did set off a love spell that worked. It was not placed on a person, it was what she truely wanted in a love. She also states a very important point: Magic is not just spells and potions. True magic comes from within. Just because you grind the right herbs, light the right candles and say the right chants, if you do not believe then it cannot happen. That much I have learned in my research. I have not yet decided if I want to become wiccan. I am still doing research and will read some of the books you suggest before I make up my mind.

Another thing. I understand that they had several practicing witches to advise on the set. One was a priestess but I cannot recall her name. If this is a fact, then you can credit one hollywood director with having the sense to accurately portray a very misunderstood religion.

Thank you for listening and Blessed Be!
Michele

hi, i saw practical magic and i gotta tell ya it was way better than any other witchcraft related movies i've ever seen. Alot better than the movie the craft that's for sure. It was pretty exsagurated, but what movie isn't? i give it 2 and a half stars.
