I celebrate thanksgiving and christmas but I also incorperate that sabats and esbats I guess those two hollidays are so ingraned in my culter that its just habbit now.

I am a Solitary Practitioner of Wicca and I believe I have a simple, if personal, answer to this question. I celebrate the Sabbats when the arrive with a ritual specific for the purpose of the Sabbat and anything needed in my life at the time...the Sabbat is a time for rest, help, and thankfulness.

On traditional holidays, such as Thanksgiving and christmas...I see those as time to be with family, friends, and others you hold dear. christmas is a time for gift giving, love, and talk. So is Thanksgiving, without the gifts-it has no real religious standing-the Pilgrims made it a holiday because they had survived quite an ordeal and I still hold that the Wise people knew what they were doing...
