Is there any kind of spell or witchcraft that would have witches place dread birds at someone's door? I keep finding them at my back door like they were placed there for a reason.

There might be a logical explanation. It might just be a cat that is bringing 'gifts' to you. It sometimes happens that they try to impress by leaving dead animals there for you. Horrible but true!
