Witch's
Brew Asks

The witches Pyramid ( to know, to dare, to will and to be silent) I do not undertsand the to be silent part. Am I not aloud to explain wicca to my friends and family, or help my friends on the path?

as I understand it...to keep silent is to protect others...by not outing them as pagans or as witches. Also it could mean to not tell tradition information to those outside the tradition you are in. Also, a wise person does not have to brag about what s/he knows...by being silent, you let your actions speak for yourself, this shows more than words who you are. It IMHO does NOT mean you cannot tell others about your faith. Realise though, that your POV is yours, and you cannot speak for all pagans or witches. I hope this helps a little. Tam

I forgot... in spell work...it means once spell is done, do not rehash it in your mind, don't talk of it...just let it go, otherwise you can interrupt what would have been, by your doubts etc. Release it to the Universe. In my opinion also on this...if you talk about it positively I don't think that is a bad thing, or acting as if it will come true either...although some people think even positive thoughts, once the spellwork is done is overdoing it, and that again, you should 'keep silent.' YMMD (your mileage may differ...it may be for you talking of your spell after is okay for you...try it both ways and see for yourself.) Blessings.

To share the details of your spell with non-believers might hurt the spell with their doubts and negativity.
