What do you think of the way Witches are portrayed as riding brooms.. does it offend you?

The idea of a witch on a broomstick does conjure up images of a hooked nose, pointed black hat, large moles and facial hair, not to mention that laugh..... but, no - it does not offend me in the least. I would personally love to ride a broomstick into the sky, but that is beside the point. I think that we do not have to deny everything that is associated with the myths about witches. We are not evil, and part of the general society realizing this will happen when they see that the old ideas were manipulated, ficticiously altered to instill fear and rejection. Be proud in that which you accept, your cauldron, your pentagram, your broomstick, if you like... I'm not saying go out there and preach, I am merely saying be proud, and sure of yourself. These myths of witches does not offend me, for it is just a legend and a "halloween" witch. I don't believe people take it seriously (or do they?) and if they do, they must be young.

No, it doesn't offend me...I'd love to be able to do it! No fuel bills, No traffic jams, No pollution...the perfect method of transport! :) Seriously, it is just a bit of fun, and if you can't laugh at yourself, the world will become a very depressing place to be.

It doesn't offend me at all. I just would LOVE to be able to do that!! It would save me a lot of time..... I just don't like when people see us as bad and mad old women.

Acctually I just want to laugh when I think about it, its so childish I wish my magick could do that. I've done a levetating exercise with a group I almost had a heart attack when I relized I was really floating for a second, but I never flew out the window on a broom (although I wish I could) It only bothers me when we'er precived as being "evil" or "devil worshipers" or ugly greened skinned with big noses, when we dont ever belive that the devil exist.

Actually, it does not offend me. I wish too, that we could really fly on boom sticks. But if you think about it, we fly every night on the astral plane when we go to sleep, on the astral plane,you can fly any where, you just have to be careful and remember the rules.

This usually does not offend mean until, a womenfound out I was a witch and say why dont you get on your broom and get out of here.That obviously offends me.

I think it would be fun to be able to fly on a broomstick. But the idea doesn't bother me, I know that the people in the past were not too smart on this subject. Witches used to make what is called a flying ointment, it didn't cause to physically fly but to astral project. They used to lay by the fire to keep warm while the projected themselves. The people of the past just assumed they flew their brooms from the chimney. It is quite funny to think of all those witches naked on broomsticks OUCH!!!!
