Question
What's the quickest way you have found to remove candle wax? More
specifically, removing it from a crystal ball ? Altar Cloths? Wooden Candle
Holders?
Answers
Ice works sometimes. You can freeze the wax and peel it off. If it's paraffin wax, it may still leave a greasy stain in fabric. A crystal ball can probably be gently scraped or you can try the ice cube trick. There is a commercial candle wax remover from Barker Candle Supplies that I bought at a local candle shop. It's biodegradable and nontoxic. Smells like orange. Unfortunately there isn't an address or phone # on the bottle. You might ask at a local candle shop if you've got one near.

If it's on the carpet or cloth, put some newspaper or a paper bag over the wax and rub an iron over it at meduim heat. The wax will transfer to the paper; you may to do it a few times with a few sheets of newspaper, though.
For candle holders, you could try putting it in *hot* water. Just be sure to do this in a bowl or something, as hardened candle wax isn't too good for the pipes!

I make candles and the best way is to remove it from any cloth is to take a brown paper bag lay it on the cloth and use a hot iron and go over it. It will take a while however it works. Also if you are using candles in something that you want to be able to get it out of (ie a globe or etc.) spray it with pam or rub the object with some kind of oil proir to using the object and the wax lifts right off.....and just another quick tip....for those
of you who have cast iron.....I had a problem with my cauldron rusting....if you take a piece of steel wool and get all the rust off...then take a wax that is for a no wax floor (such as brite) and rub it into the iron and let it sit and no more rust....hope that helps some one...and may you all have a blessed Samhain and new moon. All of you are in my heart this night.
Blessed Be,

I have found the best way to remove candle wax is to freeze it first, and then it just lifts or cracks right off with only at little nudging. I always put my candle holders in there when there is a little bit left and you want to get it out. You could put any of these objects in your freezer (if the crystal ball is not too big?). I still haven't found a good way to get it out of my carpet yet though!

Another good thing is too put a candle holder in the freezer, i make candles and sometime i have to put some thing in the freezerso that way i can get the wax off of things.. ( the cold makes the wax shrink, and thus fall or breeak off REALLY easy..

Try a little gasoline on the spot- works great on carpets. Just PLEASE make sure any near by candles are out. The gas should lift the wax right out, then just scrup the gas out with dishsoap and water. (and you may not want to light a match there for a couple of hours.
