Q
Do you have any love spells, one that may have someone that I know fall
in love with me?
A
Most Wiccans don't cast the kind of love spell you are asking for. Most of us believe that this is a form of mind manipulation, which would most definitely cause harm. This is in direct violation of the Wiccan Rede which states, "An it harm none, do what thou wilt."
If you really desire love in your life, burn a pink candle and visualize the type of person you would like to meet.
Hope this helps.

Q
What i was wondering is which sun sigh/element that i am. My birthday is on June 21, 1980. Some things say I'm Gemini, while other things say I'm Cancer. Which that makes me water and air. Is it possible to be both?
A
The reason why some sources say you're Gemini and others say you are Cancer is, the exact time that the Sun falls into each house of the zodiac may vary a day or two each year. My guess is the sources you are looking at have simply picked an approximate day that the Sun moves into Cancer. Since these sources are not being exact by looking to the stars, they are going to vary.
I've consulted my handy dandy chart and you are indeed a Gemini. As a matter of fact, your birthday was the last day of the house of Gemini. If you were born one day latter, you would've been a Cancer. Being a Gemini, that makes you an Air sign.
Well, I hope this answers your question.

Q
I am 17 years old and very interested in the Wiccan Religon. I was wandering if you could send me some titles of some books that explain the religon as well as the balance of it with nature, and any comments of the religon from your personal experiences. Thank you alot and be blessed.
A
The books that I would suggest first are:
Wicca:A Guide for the Solitary Practioner by Scott Cunningham To Ride a Silver Broomstick by Silver Ravenwolf To Stir a Magick Cauldron by Silver Ravenwolf Earth Power by Scott Cunningham (really, any books by Scott are great basic books) Power of the Witch by Laurie Cabot with Tom Cowan Celebrate the Earth by Laurie Cabot with Jean Mills Drawing Down the Moon by Margot Adler (This is more general pagan oriented) The Spiral Dance by Starhawk
As for personal comments, Wicca is more than just a religion for most, if not all, of it's practioners. It is a way of life. A basic thought and action pattern. It is who we are and what we do. I have been pagan for over 20 years. What defines wicca for me is going to differ, at least slightly, from what any other person's definition is. It is a very personal religion/experience. It is nature based and dual deity worship is the norm. The Goddess predominates in Wicca and Her consort, the God, takes a slightly lesser role, though definitely jsut as important and powerful.

Q
I'm interested in the candle making. I do have one question, when you listed the herbs and color for the intentions, do you mean add ALL the herbs and ALL the colors listed for that intention? or pick one color and one herb from the advised list?
A
Oh, by the Goddess! When i first started, this was one of my questions as well! Fortunately for our sanity, it is NOT necessary to use ALL of the herbs/colours suggested, for several reasons.
1. More than one suggestion is posted so that you have options. If only one colour/herb was posted, and you didn't have *that particular* colour/herb, your choices would be pretty slim. As it is, some places offer a better variety of candles and herbs that you can purchase, collect, make or grow, but not many offer them ALL. So it's merely a list of *possibilities* for you to choose among.
2. You may feel a particular affinity for one particular herb, or colour. If you are aware that you HAVE the option, you are more likely to choose that which feels best for you. This will, in turn, increase your odds of a successful spell.
3. By choosing only *1*, you can also increase the energies you put into it, instead of dividing your attention among 2 or 3 or more different candles. Having done a major ritual for 3-4 MAJOR works of magic before, i can tell you, it is more than a little draining! :) But with practice comes confidence and knowledge.
If we can be of further assistance, please let us know. :)

Q
Are these spells unisex..male/female only? I would like to
practice..but I am a male. Does this matter in spell use?
A
The practice of witchcraft has nothing to do with your gender. Anyone can practice, but there's more to it than spells and invocations. Once again, please get Mr. Cunningham's book and do some research before trying to perform any magic.

Q
How does one do invocation of the spirits? Could you please tell me how to?
Q
I'm not quite sure what spirits you mean and I don't think you are either.
There are many different kinds of "spirits". Invocations are nothing to play around with. If you are unskilled, you can cause yourself a lot of problems.
I would suggest that you educate yourself in the ways of Wicca before attempting any invocations, spells, etc. A good place to start is Scott Cunningham's "Wicca: A Guide For The Solitary Practitioner".

Q
I had heard that if i cast a spell and the person that i castred it on finds out that it would come back on me three times three. I don't want to cast a Love spell or a money spell and end up worse than I started out as. My question is how can i protect my-self from the negative part of spell casting?
A
First of all, you should NEVER cast a spell on someone without their
knowledge and consent. To do otherwise is a direct violation of the Wiccan Rede. The law of three has nothing to do with anyone finding out what your spell was, however, to get to the basis of your question. What the law of three refers to is that any energy you send out into the Universe (positive or negative) will come back to you threefold. Love spells for a specific person are a violation of that person's right to free will and thus are harmful to them. If you did a spell like that, you could expect that negative energy, in an amount three times greater than that which you expended in casting the spell will find it's way back to you in some form. The only way to protect yourself from a negative spell is to not cast one to begin with.
My advice to you would be to read more and study more about what Wicca really is. It is a lot more than spell casting and much more spiritual in nature. Generally speaking, until one has read enough to understand the basics of the law of three and the spiritual aspects of Wicca, one shouldn't be casting spells. Learn the spiritual side first and then you will be grounded enough in the basics to do spellwork without worrying about any negative effects.
Please let me know if I can answer any other questions, or help in any way.

Q
I have some Dragon's Blood resin, and want to extract the aromatic principle to make candles. What would be the best method of doing this? Should I just put the ground resin in the wax and hope for the best, or is there another way?
A
Dragon's blood, as a resin, is very potent. And, as it's element is fire, is entirely conducive to being burnt (which is convenient, becuase you primarily see it as incense).
I've never done this particular project with dragon's blood, but I see no problems with this use. (that being to powder it and put it into the wax).
In fact, I'll be trying it myself soon :)

Q
I am interrestded in witchcraft, I feel diferent from other people. I need help to see if i have powers.
A
Each of us is different and unique, and at the same time we are all the same. This is part of the balance that Witchcraft teaches. I must caution you however, this is not the easiest of paths to follow. You will be challenged and tested. None the less, the love of the Goddess and her Consort make all worthwhile.
Everyone has powers, that is a given. We have the ability to do many things, but to do them we need to learn how, and to practice, and practice and practice!
My best suggestion for you is to obtain a copy of: Living Wicca : A Further Guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham, published by Llewellyn Publications. It is available in larger book stores and I am sure your library either has it or can obtain it through interlibrary loan. Read through it and it will help you to understand Wicca and if this is your path.
Once you have done that, take a week, and each night spend 10 minutes in quiet peaceful meditation. Do this outdoors if possible. Try and clear your mind and let the gods speak to you.
If you still feel this is right for you, then purchase (as you will need to use it much longer then the library will loan if for): To Ride a Silver Broomstick : New Generation Witchcraft by Silver Ravenwolf, again published by Llewellyn Publications. The cover is hokey but the book is a course on Witchcraft and if you follow it, you will be well on the path and well even be seeing some of the fruits of the powers you have.
Blessed Be,
