When I kneel to pray
This world fades away,
And it is just me and my god.
I don't have to say
To whom that I pray,
I don't need your approving nod.
This is not about you
Or what you would do
If it were you that were doing the praying.
This is about me
And the Spirit that be
So, it matters not what you are saying.
See, I know when I pray
There's nothing you'll say
That will sway me from what I believe,
For I know when I pray,
Spirit hears what I say,
And my soul shall be granted reprieve.
So, go ahead friend,
Preach to no end
Of what you say is right and what's wrong.
Spirit knows my true heart,
My faith won't depart,
And my soul sings eternity's song.
So, many blessings to you,
And I'll pray for you, too.
Light and love to you do I send.
May we all come to see,
Though, different are we,
We all share the same divine friend.
