Belief and Beyond
Tempered heart like coldest steel
Believing what you see is real,
But ponder this, oh cynical soul,
What lies beyond the starry bowl.
What hides behind the galaxies' trail
Beyond infinite space, and through the veil?
Quantum laws confuse you still,
Yet you favor "logic", not what you feel.
Do you not trust what lies in the heart,
The longing you feel that won't depart?
Why must you find shame in belief,
Treating it as reason's thief?
All signs are there and still you doubt.
It is your spirit crying out.
This mortal shell shall wither away,
The skin grows thin, the hair fades gray.
But the eternal soul, it has not aged,
Though flesh and bone have kept it caged.
You draw on its strength in time of need,
On its essence you surely feed.
The spirit, however, craves as well,
Its hunger felt in every cell.
You starve the soul then wonder why
Your heart's so cold, your thoughts so dry.
Heed the warnings, hear the call
That issues from the mouth of All.
Know the being within the man
Acquaint yourself with your spiritual clan.
Doubt no more what can't be seen.
Embrace the unknown and from it glean
A wisdom to daunt the eldest sage,
Peruse the mysteries page by page.
Unlock your soul, and finally see
What lies beyond your reality.
