Dear Spirit...

Be with my child all through the day,

Guard and protect, though come what may.

Give courage for the trials ahead,

And calming peace in fear's stead.

Bestow the gifts of kindness and love,

To always look within and above.

Give patience when they don't understand

And mercy instead of a heavy hand.

May the lessons they learn be taken to heart,

That they may remember when we are apart.

May they be blessed and kept within Your light,

To guide them through the darkest night.

I thank Thee, Spirit, for your grace so mild,

And for this little miracle I call my child.
